Rising Tide Students Inducted into National Honor Society

Ten Rising Tide students were inducted into the school’s National Honor Society (NHS) chapter at a special ceremony on Thursday, May 5.

The 2022 inductees are: Matthew Andrade, Margaret Blaisdell, Kaia Chebiniak, Madeline Cinelli, Maia Cinelli, Lucy Duell, Ava Lynch, Brooke Marshall, Gerard Sytangco, and Isabelle Utt.

The National Honor Society is a nationwide organization established to recognize outstanding high school students who meet the criteria of their specific chapter. Rising Tide became a member of its chapter in 2014. The students selected into the NHS at Rising Tide must follow the four pillars of NHS, which are Leadership, Scholarship, Service, and Character. These values align nicely with Rising Tide’s Schoolwide Objectives and Benchmark Skills, where students develop the skills to be Communicators, Investigators, Self-Directed Learners, and Community Stewards. As part of the NHS, members participate in a variety of service-related projects throughout the school year.

Since forming eight years ago, Rising Tide’s NHS chapter has been very active. NHS students have demonstrated attributes of true school leaders and role models, from running the school’s peer tutoring program to mentoring middle school students. They have promoted a positive school climate by organizing a variety of events throughout the years.
