school hours

Rising Tide school hours are 7:45 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Doors open at 7:25 a.m. On Wednesdays, school hours are 7:45 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. The school’s office is open from 7:25 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. each school day.

attendance

Student attendance is extremely important to both students and Teachers at Rising Tide. As a school with high academic standards, we value regular and timely attendance at school, as it is critical to a connection within the school community as well as successful academic achievement.

For the safety and protection of each student, it is essential for school staff to know the whereabouts of every student. Therefore, Rising Tide’s attendance policy requires that parents/guardians contact the school on the day that a student is absent and provide a basis for the student’s absence from school that day. Rising Tide also requires parents/guardians to contact the school if their child will be tardy or dismissed. In such cases of absence, tardiness, or dismissal, parents/guardians should leave a message on the Attendance Line before 8:00 am. Attendance Line: 508-747-2620 x102.

cancellation of school or emergency closing

In the event that school must be canceled or delayed because of snow, unusual weather conditions, or emergency circumstances, announcements will be listed on WCVBTV 5, WHDHTV 7, and FOX 25 television stations and websites. When possible, announcements will also be sent by email and posted on the front page of the school website.

Although Rising Tide is not a part of the Plymouth Public School District, Rising Tide follows the same school year calendar as the Plymouth Public Schools, and the Town of Plymouth provides bus transportation for Rising Tide students who reside in Plymouth; therefore, Rising Tide will not be in session if the Plymouth Public School District cancels school. Please do not call the Police Department, Fire Department, or the Rising Tide office.

In the event of a school closing or unscheduled early dismissal after the school day has begun, Rising Tide will utilize a desktop calling system to notify families by telephone. When possible, announcements will also be sent by email and posted on the front page of the school website. Unless otherwise specified, all students who normally ride the bus will be sent home by bus. Students who normally are driven to school will be held until a parent/guardian or the regular carpool driver arrives.

Extended Day Options

Rising Tide offers an Extended Day program for current Rising Tide students in grades 5-12.  Space is limited in the program, and participants will be registered on a first-come, first-served basis once payment is received. The program will begin on Thursday, August 29, 2024.

EXTENDED DAY PROGRAM
The program will run from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, except when school is closed. Please note the program will NOT run on Wednesdays due to our weekly early dismissals for professional development. Families needing programming on Wednesday afternoons may make arrangements with the Boys and Girls Club of Plymouth (see below). One of the afternoon buses will take students from Rising Tide to the Boys and Girls Club upon dismissal at noon.

The Extended Day Program offers parents/guardians an hour of transitional child care to help ease any work- or family-related scheduling issues. The program will provide the students with a safe and supervised area for socializing and enjoying age-appropriate board and card games with their peers. We encourage a technology-free environment, and students are also provided a quiet space for individual work or reading. Please note this program does not provide 1:1 academic support or tutoring. Students must be picked up by 4:00 p.m.

Students must follow Rising Tide’s Community Standards of Behavior and all other expectations outlined in the Student Handbook.

The cost per term, whether a student attends either one, two, three, or four days per week, is $200.00. The third (or more) student will be free for any family. Once you register via this form, please log on, or create an account for your family, via the link provided at the bottom of the form, to MySchoolBucks.com. On that site, look for the “Extended Day Program” on our school store and select the term(s) for which your child(ren) will attend. Alternatively, payment may also be made via check, payable to “Rising Tide Charter Public School“.

Payment must be received by the start of each term before participating in the program. The fees cover the cost of Rising Tide faculty and staff members working beyond their regular hours.
