Friday, April 3 Update from Head of School

Dear Rising Tide Families,

Our Advisors loved getting together with their Advisor groups yesterday morning through Google Hangouts Meet, and all of our teachers are excited to move forward with more live interactions with students next week.

Starting on Monday, April 6, teachers and students will move forward with curriculum for each course, through a combination of posted assignments and support through Google Classroom along with live check-in periods through Google Hangouts Meet. Students will be expected to join their classes for thirty-minute check-in periods twice a week per course. Students will also check-in with their Advisor groups on a weekly basis. Please review the following overview of the updated distance learning plan:

We have developed a revised schedule for the next two weeks for the check-in periods for the courses, organized by the blocks of our standard schedules for the Middle School and Upper School programs. Please note that these schedules have been developed in alignment with the recent guidance from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and with the understanding of the challenging circumstances for students, families, and teachers. Please review the distance learning schedules below:

As we move forward with this plan we will be asking for your feedback after the first week. If your child has difficulty engaging with this distance learning plan due to challenges with technology or other circumstances, please let your child’s Advisor know so that we can work together to find solutions.

Sincerely,
Michael O’Keefe
Head of School
