Governor Baker Closes Schools in Massachusetts through End of School Year

Dear Rising Tide Families,

At his 12pm press conference today, Governor Baker announced that all Massachusetts schools will remain closed through the end of the school year.

While many of us thought this announcement may be coming, I was holding on to hope that we would be able to be all together with our students for at least a short while before the end of the school year. This is difficult news to process, but it also ends the uncertainty about how we will be able to finish the academic year.

Next week we will continue to build upon the foundation of our approach to distance learning to best serve the growth and well-being of our students, and better support all of our parents/guardians through the distance learning.

We will need to work together to make the end-of-year events and rites of passage special for our students and families, even if they will need to happen in different ways than we have previously planned.

Please enjoy the rest of this week and find ways to recharge with your families before we come back together, remotely, next week to finish the school year in a way that honors the growth and achievement of our students.

Sincerely,
Michael O’Keefe
Head of School
