Dear Rising Tide Families,
Rising Tide will be closed from Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 27. We have joined a coalition of schools in our region, including charter public schools and traditional district public schools, to close for two weeks to help contain the spread of COVID-19. All school-related events will also be canceled during these two weeks.
This is an unprecedented situation for our state, and we recognize the challenges that such a school closure creates for families. While we have no reported cases of COVID-19 in our school community, we need to prioritize the health of our families and our broader community, and work together to help flatten the curve of this pandemic.
On Monday, I will share more information about the ways that our teachers will work to provide opportunities for students to stay in contact with learning.
The last day of school will now be Thursday, June 25. The last day for seniors remains their graduation day on Friday, June 5.
This afternoon, Middle School students will gather to hear from Mr. Post about the situation, and Upper School Students will gather to hear from Mr. Simons. Students will gather in Advisories at the end of the day and will be encouraged to bring school materials and other belongings home.
Families will have the opportunity to come to the school to collect necessary medication at the start of next week. We will be in touch with any families who rely on free and reduced lunch to provide any necessary support during the extended closure.
Thank you for your patience and understanding through this challenging time. We will continue to be in touch on a regular basis.
Sincerely,
Michael O’Keefe
Head of School
